$110 million Enterprise Bargaining Victory · 2004

13._110_million_Enterprise_Bargaining_Victory_2004.pngThe 10 May stop-work meeting at the National Convention Centre is the largest gathering of members in our history. Three thousand members meet with a sense of unity and determination before marching on the ACT Legislative Assembly to demand nationally competitive salaries. Subsequent rolling stoppages and rallies - and over 100 formal meetings with the employer - lead to the most comprehensive set of improvements in salaries and conditions in the history of the teaching service in the ACT. The overall cost of the settlement is $110 million, making the ACT public education system much more competitive and giving us a sense that our work is genuinely valued.
