Defend Safe Schools Rally

The Safe Schools program has helped students across the ACT to find acceptance in their school communities, but the Turnbull government has announced plans to wind back the program. Not only is their funding being threatened, but the Safe Schools Coalition has been receiving abuse and threats.

Safe Schools does important work in our schools, helping educators to create safe and inclusive environments for our LGBTI students, staff and families. They offer resources and support to staff and students who are leading positive change in our schools.

The AEU ACT Branch has let the Safe Schools Coalition know that they have our support, but now it's time to send the same message to the Turnbull government. Join us at the rally to defend Safe Schools on Saturday the 23rd of April and let the Turnbull government know that teachers believe that all of our students deserve our support.

Make sure to wear your AEU T-shirt and bring your Sub-branch banner so we can all find each other on the day!
