Minister Questioned On School Psychologists
Shadow Education Minister, Steve Doszpot, used question time in the Legislative Assembly to seek a commitment from the Education Minister on when the Government will deliver on the Expert Panel Recommendation.
Mr Doszpot asked the Minister for Education, Shane Rattenbury:
“Minister, when will the expert committee recommendation 10, employment of additional psychologists, school counsellors or other professionals, be delivered, and will they be additional to the four psychologists previously agreed as part of the current EBA, finalised last year but not yet implemented?” (Hansard, p.8)
Unfortunately, Minister Rattenbury was not able to give a definite answer. However, he did flag that he will be discussing the matter with key stakeholders in coming weeks and the AEU looks forward to fruitful conversations with the Minister.
