National Reconciliation Week 2014 is on. Here's how you and your students can get involved!

National Reconcilation Week is a time when, as a nation, we reflect on our past and imagine our shared future. Schools have a special role in this process. Here are five things you can do with your students during National Reconciliation Week 2014.

1. Incorporate Reconciliation Week into teaching and learning

2. Explore the 1967 referendum on counting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the census

3. Mark June 3, anniversary of the momentous Mabo decision

4. Get involved in Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Schools

5. Engage in the debate: recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our constitution
