UnionsACT May Day doorknock

The most powerful thing we can do with our respected place in the community for this federal election, is to ask Queanbeyan voters what matters to them and talk about public education, in swing seat Eden Monaro.

Teachers get a great reception at the door with voters. If you've not done it before, you can go in a pair with someone more experienced, or a friend. You can just observe or just come to the training to see how you like it. Some people do it because they know it makes a difference, some people do it because they find it fulfilling to connect with ordinary people in the community, and some find it almost addictive!

We'll train beforehand, and give you everything you need to feel confident out there. Please bring a water bottle and sunhat for good weather, or a coat and umbrella for poor weather. Nothing gets sympathy from voters like a volunteer in the rain!

There will be a BBQ from 3pm, to celebrate May Day, your work and workers all over the world.

This is a great use of your time in an election year -- come have a say in the future of your country. Bring a friend, and if you can't make it, send five!
