All members are welcome to attend.
The Network Meeting will be held at Old Parliament House on Thursday the 15th October from 4.30 – 6.00pm.
Members will have an opportunity to view the Behind the Lines exhibition. Behind the Lines gives us an evolving vantage point from which to consider recent political history. The highly individualistic range of subject matter reminds us that caricature has developed into a powerful political weapon. Attendees will work together or individually to create a political cartoon on current women’s issues and working conditions.
Communicate best by writing? Write it out. Don’t like stringing words together but awesome with a pencil? Sketch it. Use whatever medium works best for you. Publish comics, poetry, critiques, reviews, rants, collages at the Zine Lounge during your visit.
As a bonus members will be able to access the Play Up exhibition which focuses on how children think about their own rights and those of other children around the world, all while having fun! PLAY UP—The Right to Play opened in August 2014, and has proven to be one of the museum’s most popular new spaces. There will also be information on the new exhibition PLAY UP—The Right to Shelter, which looks at Article 27 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN, 1995)
