Migration Support Program – In Search of Safety: Seeking Humanity project “I didn’t really understand what refugees go through until I talked to one.”—written by a student after participating in the In Search of Safety program.

Sadly, there is much misunderstanding about why and how people seek protection, and what happens once they arrive in Australia. Because of this, asylum seekers are not only one of the most vulnerable groups in Australia, but also one of the most marginalised. Lisa will provide information on a free workshop that aims to inform and engage young people to think about asylum seekers. The workshops are interactive and are geared towards helping students form their own views and opinions, based on facts and the real-life experiences of asylum seekers.

In Search of Safety: Seeking Humanity workshops can contribute to learning outcomes in the national curriculum.
