SUMMARY:Supporting Students with Autism in Years 7-12
DESCRIPTION:The Supporting Students with Autism in 7-12 course is designed to \n\ndevelop an understanding of the wide range of characteristics of students with Autism;\nexplore a range of strategies which address the needs of students with Autism in the areas of language and cognitive development\, communication skills and social behaviour;\ndevelop specific strategies to help students with Autism access the curriculum\, manage their own stressful reactions and modify their behaviours.\n\nParticipants will also develop an understanding of how to set up an effective learning environment for students with Autism. \nThis course will be held on Thursday 23 May at the AEU ACT Branch\, Level 1/71 Leichhardt Street\, Kingston. \nIt is offered through a partnership arrangement with the Centre for Professional Learning of the NSW Teachers Federation. \nThe course is accredited through NESA and TQI for 5 hours. \nFor more information including how to register go to: Supporting Students with Autism in 7-12 (nswtf.org.au)
