Elected by union members based at a school or worksite
Union representatives are the main contact between the members and the union office, and their main function is to ensure that the membership at the worksite has a strong voice and is well-represented.
Union representatives share a range of duties including informing and educating members about union matters and inviting non-members to join the union.
Paid time training is available for union representatives and members who would like to become union representatives. If you’re interested in being a representative at your school or workplace, speak to your current Sub-Branch President or Secretary. There are a range of different roles you could take on! The process for electing sub-branch representatives takes place at the beginning of every school year.
