State of Our Schools survey

The outcomes from our recent member survey, including the formation of the new joint taskforce to find solutions to issues around staff shortages, has shown how effective the collective voice of our members can be. The AEU's annual national State Of Our Schools survey is now open and its results will usefully complement what you've already told us and provide a larger-scale picture on the working conditions of educators around the country. Please take 10 minutes out of your day to complete it if you can.

For many years, the AEU has invited members to participate in our State Of Our Schools survey, and the results have always been extremely valuable and provide crucial evidence for our work to reduce workloads, teacher shortages and the lack of resources faced by public schools.

For the last 18 months public schools have been operating in an unprecedented climate of uncertainty. We know many of you are working under extremely challenging circumstances to provide the best education possible to your students.

For that reason, this year’s State of Our Schools survey includes a series of additional questions specifically about the impact of the pandemic on your school, including the level of support offered by the education department, the impact on students and school staff, remote teaching and learning, workload and the ongoing support that schools and students will require.

The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete and will provide invaluable data on the pandemic, but also on staffing, working conditions and resourcing in usual circumstances. It will be open until Friday 17 September 2021.

Please let us know your experiences by filling out our national State of Our Schools survey for 2021

We know you are busier than ever, but it is vital that we have as many members as possible around the country completing the survey so we can present a clear picture of the true state of staffing and resourcing in our public schools.

By completing the survey you will also have a chance to win a new iPad Pro!
