September 3
8:30am
-  3:30pm

Are you a newly elected representative in your sub-branch? Ever felt unsure about how to do your role? Want to know the power of passing a motion at your sub-branch? What is a motion?!

If you are a sub-branch President, Deputy President, Secretary, Councillor or Alternate Councillor, this training is for YOU.

This comprehensive course will provide:

  • clear guidance on role descriptions and functions for each elected position
  • help you understand exactly what’s expected and how to excel in your role
  • valuable insights into our union’s democratic structures and learn how these frameworks support effective representation of members
  • practical workplace organising strategies and campaigning techniques

This course will empower you to advocate effectively for AEU members in your workplace. Whether you’re stepping into a leadership role for the first time or seeking to enhance your existing skills, this training will equip you with the knowledge and confidence needed to be an effective voice for your colleagues.

You are entitled to take industrial leave to attend the course. The AEU office will provide a letter to support your leave application.

We look forward to seeing you!
