The Australian Education Union (AEU) represents educators and school staff across Australia, advocating for equitable and effective education systems. At AEU ACT Branch, we are committed to enhancing the support and engagement of our members, particularly school assistants and CIT educators.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Interim Project Officer to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for driving our recruitment and engagement strategies forward, specifically targeting the inclusion and support of school assistants and CIT educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit schools and CIT campuses and engage with members and potential members.
- Promote the outstanding achievements of our union in recent enterprise bargaining rounds for school assistants and CIT educators.
- Implement recruitment initiatives to attract new members, with a strategic focus on school assistants (60%) and CIT educators (40%).
- Enhance the union’s visibility and presence among school assistants and CIT educators.
- Implement engagement strategies that increase membership satisfaction and participation.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to support union activities and projects.
About You:
- You are currently working as a school assistant or are a member of the CIT community, with a keen interest in union roles and operations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience in project management and/or member engagement would be advantageous.
