Applications are now open for the annual Federal Women’s Conference. This Conference is for AEU women from preschools, schools, and CIT. It is a feminist event, inclusive of all women working in public education. The purpose of this year’s conference will be to explore the issue of systemic and institutionalised gendered violence and misogyny in education. The conference will not solely be on education about the problem, as this risks circling on the issue, but doing nothing to change it. The conference will be a space for women teachers and educators from across Australia to come together, to build solidarity and collaborate on strategy and solutions: how women can organise to win safe and respected workplaces. Furthermore, given the complexity of the topic, there will be a plan for safety before, during and after the event and delegates will be encouraged to self-care as needed
