Rosemary Richards Scholarship applications open!

Are you keen to get more involved as a union leader and contribute to a project focused on improving gender equity by engaging women in the union? The Rosemary Richards Scholarship is a national award open to all AEU women members. It has been revamped to support the leadership development of women and to invest in AEU women members as union leaders.

The scholarship is valued at up to $10,000. It provides an opportunity for a woman member to be paired with a female leader of the branch to work on an identified strategic priority.

Applications open on Monday 7 October and close on Monday 4 November 2024.

About Rosemary Richards

Rosemary Richards was the President of the AEU ACT Branch from 1988 until 1995. She was a committed feminist and teacher unionist who strongly believed in the potential power of a federated union, and that women working collectively together is the best hope of winning change in education workplaces and in education unions. This award honours her legacy by reflecting her values and commitment to gender equity and the Australian Education Union.
