Our term 2 women’s network provided a safe and supportive space for women to explore and understand the intricacies of their reproductive health.
Dr Virginia French read the room well, using a significant part of her address to provide an overview of the research on perimenopause and menopause. Members commented that they felt empowered and better able to navigate their unique reproductive health journeys with confidence and understanding.
Our other guest speaker, Suzanne Orr MLA was unfortunately a COVID casualty. Suzanne kindly passed on her notes. Members learned of the recent enhanced support for ACT public servants, including increased paid birth leave, assisted reproductive leave, expansion of provisions for primary care giver leave, increase in superannuation payments and compassionate leave on the occasion of miscarriage.
By bridging the gap between medical expertise and personal experience, the event not only educated but also forged connections, strengthening our amazing community of women members. It provided valuable information for women on how to access entitlements to enhance their workplace experience.
