Emerging Activist Award
This is a new award in 2025. It has been created to celebrate and recognise newer members who are making an impact as unionists.
Congratulations to MaryClare Woodforde, winner of the 2025 Emerging Activist Award.
MaryClare exhibits the best of what a new activist in the ACT Branch might demonstrate: not only commitment to broad social justice and environmental change; not only participation in local responses to international issues and representing the AEU to its advantage to other ACT unions; but also, and most importantly for the AEU branch, fighting to maintain and build Union in circumstances far more adverse than much more experienced activists ever face – and winning.
