Advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members

Date & Time
August 29
9:00am
-  3:00pm

Join with other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members for a day devoted to developing and prioritising actions to make our workplaces and our working conditions better and safer.

The day will provide opportunities to:

  • discuss workplace challenges and solutions to make our profession more attractive for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators and support staff
  • propose specific claims for inclusion in bargaining for better workplace conditions
  • gain insight into our union’s structures and learn how to use these to advocate effectively for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members
  • be empowered to be an effective voice on industrial issues that matter most to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members

As an AEU member you are entitled to take industrial leave to attend this day. The AEU office will provide you with a letter to support your leave application. Registrations must be received no later than 14 August 2025.

You must be an AEU member to attend. If you know a colleague who would like to attend but is not yet an AEU member, this is a great time to invite them to join. It’s simple. Join online at: https://join.aeuact.org.au/
